From a down shawl to a Mars rover: the surprises of the Orenburg region
At the
RUSSIA EXPO, you can always learn a lot of new and interesting things about
each region. For example, where the watermelon capital is located, how the
Orenburg region is connected with Mars rovers and the iconic Apple logo, and
where to go first when traveling through the region.
Most
likely, most people in our country associate the Orenburg region with the
world-famous down shawls: thin, light, warm and cozy. They are worn by many
famous people. For example, Valentina Matvienko and Catherine Deneuve, singer
Madonna. And the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO can find a cult accessory for
themselves in the Department Store, where only original products of local
craftswomen are presented.
It is known
that a real Orenburg shawl can easily pass through a ring thanks to the finest
needlework. This will be gladly demonstrated at the stand of the region, and
the guests themselves can also try it. The region has many more reasons to take
pride. The watermelon capital of Russia is located here - it is the town of
Sol-Iletsk. And the region itself is a leader in the cultivation of melons and
other agricultural crops.
The region
is also one of the leaders in oil and gas production, and also ranks first in
the production of helium and odorant. Orenburg chrome is used to make Apple's
logo - a bitten apple, and local chrome is also used in the construction of
Mars rovers. The Orenburg region supplied steel for the Crimean Bridge and
cement for the construction of Moscow-City.
The region is also a great place for tourists. It is worth visiting the Karagay-Guberlya Gorge, with its amazing statues created by nature itself, as well as the Orenburg Nature Reserve. This is the only place in the country where the famous Przewalski's horse is bred. And of course, it is impossible not to visit the salt lakes. Lake Razval is called the Orenburg Dead Sea. Bathing in the lake helps with diseases of internal organs and locomotor system.
At the exposition of the Orenburg region you can not only get acquainted with the region, but also take part in various activities: contests, lectures and masterclasses. This week the local college will present its program. Younger guests can assemble mosaics, while teenagers can get acquainted with 3D modeling and motion capture technology, as well as try on different professions in a virtual game.
