Panel session "Preserving the Legacy for the Future" was held at the National Centre RUSSIA
As part of the II All-Russian municipal forum "SMALL HOMELAND — STRENGTH OF RUSSIA," on 21 April, the panel session "Preserving the Legacy for the Future" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA. The discussion was attended by Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA Natalia Virtuozova, Head of the Scientific Council of the Centre for Political Conjuncture Alexei Chesnakov, and session moderator, Chairman of the Perm City Duma Dmitry Malyutin.
Dmitry Malyutin opened the discussion by emphasizing the importance of events related to the history of Russian local self-governance legislation and the significance of developing municipalities in Russia. He also highlighted the unique role of the National Centre RUSSIA as an important tool for promoting the country’s traditional spiritual and moral values.
"The National Centre RUSSIA was established by the order of our President to showcase the achievements of the people and preserve the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO. It is important that we begin to create a unified visual code of the country, which will be perceived as part of our national identity. Municipal leaders play a key role in implementing this idea. I propose that we work on this together. It depends on all of us how we preserve the legacy of our ancestors and what kind of country we pass on to future generations," noted Natalia Virtuozova.
Alexei Chesnakov focused attention on the importance of traditional values and the role of municipal authorities in passing them on. He noted that heads of municipalities and deputies of regional authorities should not only address current issues such as housing and utilities, but also take into account long-term prospects, including technological development and social processes. According to him, it is important not only to preserve traditions but also to pass them on, since tradition is not the worship of the past, but the passing of the flame to future generations.
"The head of a municipality is not just a manager, but a transmitter of meanings and values. They should not only solve local tasks but also understand where the country is heading and how social and technological processes are changing," emphasized Alexei Chesnakov.
Participants of the panel session noted that the National Centre RUSSIA serves as a key tool in the work of preserving and strengthening traditional values, providing a platform for showcasing the achievements of the people and safeguarding historical legacy.
The II All-Russian municipal forum "SMALL HOMELAND — STRENGTH OF RUSSIA" was organized by the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government (VARMSU) with the support of the Executive Office of the President of the Russian Federation.
