Pavilion No. 51 "Eat Our Own": interactives about Russian grain and food tastings from all parts of the country
Pavilion No. 51 will tell about the results of labour of
Russian grain growers and food producers. Two expositions created here by the
Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation are devoted to grain
production and food export.
The exposition "Grain" tells about the development
of Russian crop selection science and the main stages of production - from soil
preparation and application of mineral fertilizers to harvesting. A separate
zone is dedicated to the potential of seven key grain crops grown in Russia.
And a special virtual space will allow guests to feel themselves in a real
wheat field with the full effect of presence.
At the "Export" exposition, you can learn how the
sale of food abroad is organized. This is conveniently done with the help of an
interactive world map showing the geography of supplies to different countries.
One of the central installations of this zone is a model of a grain terminal.
But the special highlight of Pavilion No. 51 is tastings of
food and drinks produced in different regions of the country. There are also
lectures on the composition and recipe of various dishes, origin and production
of the main ingredients.
Every day at 15:00 and 18:00 guests can try Lenten dishes,
including vinaigrette with sauerkraut, soup with bell peppers, fried potatoes
with honey mushrooms and berry sorbet with almond petals.
At 12:00, 13:30 and 16:30 fish tastings are held, where
visitors are offered a salad with Murmansk trout and yogurt dressing, shrimp
with vegetables in sweet and sour sauce, Norwegian soup, paella with squid and
lemon sorbet.
At 12:30, 14:30, 17:00, 18:30 you can taste a set of meat
dishes, including salad with turkey pastrami and persimmon, vitello tonnato
with Baltic sprats sauce, beef with red wine sauce and bulgur, and for dessert
you can get an ice cream sundae with strawberry topping.
The pavilion is open all days of the week except Monday. It
opens at 10:00 and closes at 22:00 on Fridays and weekends, and at 21:00 the
rest of the days.
