The Children of Primorye First Winter International Sports Games were presented as part of the business program of the Day of the Far East and the Arctic.

According to Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Primorye region, these games will unite young people and create a foundation for friendship between athletes. He added that it is these people who will have to represent their regions and their countries at large venues and international competitions in the future.

"We see that with each year the turn to the east is becoming increasingly bigger. Children of Primorye is the symbol and message of peace and friendship that we are laying among the generation that will replace us. I am sure that these athletes will glorify the Primorye region and our country. I am sure that such friendship will grow, which will allow to develop sport despite sanctions and international cataclysms, because sport was, is and remains an ambassador of peace," Oleg Kozhemyako emphasized.

President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov noted that the the Primorye region has demonstrated positive dynamics in the issue of sports development in recent years.

"Sports projects that the the Primorye region has been implementing lately are very significant and substantial events. The Children of Asia Summer Games, which were held in Vladivostok with great success, have probably become a benchmark for this kind of international sporting events. Today we are at the finish line of launching the Children of Primorye project, which will connect the regions of the Russian Far East and the countries bordering it. Undoubtedly, it is through these countries that the return of Russian sports to the international arena will take place. This path lies through Asia and through children's and youth sports. The Children of Primorye project fully corresponds to this," Stanislav Pozdnyakov, President of the Russian Olympic Committee, is certain.

The exposition also hosted a ceremony of initiation into the ambassadors of the Children of Primorye games. The ambassadors were given personal certificates and memorable merchandise - scarves with the logo of the Games. They will tell by personal example about sports achievements, overcoming difficulties and success stories, about popularization of sports and healthy lifestyle.
