Writer Yevgeny Kharitonov invites participants to the "Dreams of the Future" contest
The future may seem like something distant, but it is already arriving now. Its image depends on the ideas that are born today. This was stated by Yevgeny Kharitonov, head of the Centre for Humanitarian Projects and Research at the Russian State Library and member of the Russian Union of Writers.
"Once, British punks declared that there was no future. They were wrong. The future exists, and we are inventing it right now. What it will look like depends on us. There are countless possibilities. Let's design together the kind of futures in which we would truly want to live," said Yevgeny Kharitonov, member of the Russian Union of Writers.
You can share your vision of tomorrow by taking part in the 2nd season of the All-Russian video essay contest "Dreams of the Future", organised by the National Centre RUSSIA. Registration is open until 27 April, and entrees will be submitted until 30 April.
To participate, you need to create a short video combining live footage and AI-generated elements on one of the following themes: "Science Unites", "Technology and Nature", "The Future Is Built Today", "Space". The video should be one to three minutes long. Participants can draw inspiration from literature, films, and games based on works by science fiction writers.
Additional points will be awarded for references to recommended sources. For example, Yevgeny Kharitonov suggests addressing the following books: "The Settlement" by Kir Bulychev, "People as Gods" by Sergei Snegov, "The Trainees" by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky.
Detailed information about the contest conditions can be found on the contest's website.
The II Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA in Moscow from 27 to 29 April.
