The energy of unity brought together almost 600 Ryazan residents at the regional branch of the National Centre RUSSIA
The music and dance parable "Khorovod (round dance): The Energy of Unity" was performed on 4 November, National Unity Day, at the branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Ryazan Region.
The concert programme took audiences on a journey in which love for the Motherland found visible expression, connecting Russia's cultural diversity with the distinctive identity of the Ryazan Region.
The voice of Ryazan served as the parable's central artistic presence and narrator, while a griffin-phoenix feather linked the production's elements, travelling through history, music, crafts and contemporary forms of culture.
Through music and dance performances by Ryazan's creative ensembles, audiences could both see and feel the depth of their people's legacy. An interactive show also explored the philosophy of coming together through the idea that "a khorovod begins not with a circle, but with a step towards one another".
Folk dance and contemporary movement, folk motifs and electronic sounds, classical ballet and original productions — each performance became a distinctive showcase. Through movement, music and costumes, the artists conveyed the richness of our country and its traditions.
The music and dance parable culminated in a khorovod that brought together all the creative ensembles. It provided a vivid and symbolic finale, embodying the idea of unity and a spirit of solidarity.
Deputy Chair Natalia Suvorova conveyed National Unity Day greetings to residents and visitors on behalf of the Governor of the Ryazan Region, Pavel Malkov.
"At the beginning of this year, the Russian society Znanie's 'Russia — A Family of Families' marathon, dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, was launched at the National Centre RUSSIA. Today, we are celebrating National Unity Day at the National Centre RUSSIA in the Ryazan Region. This holiday embodies the strength of spirit and unity of the hundreds of ethnic groups living across our vast Motherland. This unity is rooted in shared values: family, traditions and culture," emphasised the Deputy Chair of the Regional Government. She also thanked Ryazan's creative ensembles for the symbolic khorovod, which was a true gift to everyone in the audience.
The "Khorovod of Unity" was launched at the National Centre RUSSIA in 2026 as part of an extensive programme dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the country's President, Vladimir Putin.
Throughout the year, the "Khorovod" series brought outstanding performers from across the country to the stage of the National Centre RUSSIA, creating a shared map of Russia's peoples from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, from the lezginka to the northern quadrille. The ensembles presented their signature classical pieces and developed new approaches to staging, offering contemporary and original interpretations.
The National Centre RUSSIA invited guests to celebrate its birthday by testing their knowledge of their home country, its history, heroes, records and landmark events.
The Governor of Yugra, Ruslan Kukharuk, joined fellow residents in testing his knowledge of the traditions, languages and cultures of the peoples of Russia.
