"While we remember, we have a future": Anastasia Zvyagina spoke about the Victory celebration at the National Centre RUSSIA
The National Centre RUSSIA is celebrating the 80th anniversary of Victory. One of the festive projects at the National Centre RUSSIA is the "Wall of Memory," where anyone can place family photos of their Heroes who won the Victory at the cost of their lives and gave current generations the chance to build their future. Anyone wishing to participate in the memorial event can do so by coming to the National Centre and providing volunteers with a family photo in digital format, after which the photo will be printed. Visitors can take the portrait home or place it on the "Wall of Memory," which is nearly full today, as stated by Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA.
"The National Centre RUSSIA, together with the entire country, is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. Several events are dedicated to this date, including a festive concert attended by veterans and blockade survivors from all over Russia. One of the festive projects at the National Centre RUSSIA is the 'Wall of Memory.' Anyone can join in to remember the feats of grandfathers and great-grandfathers. As long as we remember our Heroes who won the Great Patriotic War, we have a future," emphasised Anastasia Zvyagina.
Anastasia Zvyagina placed photographs of Heroes from her family — grandmother and grandfather — on the "Wall of Memory."
"The memory of our ancestors' feats begins in the family. Both my grandfathers and grandmothers fought. One was a home front worker, the other reached Berlin. Victory Day is a big family holiday for us, and we celebrate it every year. We will always keep the memory of the heroes and will always be grateful to all the veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Thanks to them, we live, work, and build our future today," noted Anastasia Zvyagina.
Next year, the project of the National Centre RUSSIA will continue, and it is planned to expand the "Wall of Memory" and add new formats.
Another significant event at the National Centre RUSSIA during the Victory Days was the distribution of St. George's ribbons. From May 5 to May 8, volunteers of the National Centre RUSSIA distributed more than 4,000 ribbons.
"We keep the memory of Victory, celebrate Victory Day together — visitors, staff, volunteers, and of course, our honoured guests — veterans and blockade survivors. Happy holiday!" said Anastasia Zvyagina.
More than 100 volunteers are participating in the commemorative events at the National Centre RUSSIA. These are university students and volunteers from other organisations.
The lecture "Come and See: The Feat of Newsreel Cameramen during the Great Patriotic War" took place as part of the "Thursday. Development".
The centre has become the first, unique, and multifunctional exhibition venue in Belarus, operated by the National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo."
On May 8, the audience at the National Centre RUSSIA enjoyed a performance by a combined children's wind orchestra, which launched the festive concert programme.
