The Arkhangelsk region is preparing a vast program and a memorable stand for the opening of the International RUSSIA EXPO at the VDNH. The idea is to remind about traditional crafts — shipbuilding and wooden architecture — and demonstrate achievements in science on the example of launching a space rocket.

"The Arkhangelsk region is a multifaceted region that combines rich cultural and historical heritage and scientific and technological power of the country. Arkhangelsk is the center of Arctic science. We have preserved wooden architecture, we are a region with traditional shipbuilding, both Pomor shipbuilding and shipbuilding laid down by Peter the Great. At the same time, we are developing modern shipbuilding, our large enterprise "Sevmash" builds submarines. We have a cosmodrome in the region", — said the Minister of Culture of the region Oksana Svetlova.

Guests of the exposition, having visited the stand, will see a model of a wooden ship with unusual filling — inside there will be a glowing ball symbolizing atomic achievements. And thanks to the model of a submarine in section it will be possible to literally see the internal structure of the vessel. Young guests will not get bored either and will be able to assemble the submarine in the form of a puzzle.

A majestic figure of a polar bear with cubs will greet visitors to the stand. And not far away will be a figure of the famous scientist Mikhail Lomonosov, to whom one can leave a message. This option was created especially for young visitors of the exposition.

Besides, it will be possible to visit a Pomor hut and take master classes dedicated to local crafts. Among them are Kargopol clay toys, Mezen painting and bone carving. The most interesting attraction is likely to be a rocket launch into space. Everyone will be able to try their hand at this challenging endeavor with the help of an interactive screen. And another screen will tell a lot of interesting things about the work of icebreakers.
