Problems and ways of development of the food industry, issues of application of Russian and international standards in the field of intellectual property were discussed by the participants of the sessions of the International Forum "World Quality Day in Russia", which were held at the International RUSSIA EXPO.

"Russia has created one of the most modern and flexible regulatory and methodological base in the field of quality and safety of food products. But there are still certain difficulties at the stage of implementation of these regulations. The existing laws, for example, exempt new enterprises from inspections for three years. And some managers, having worked for three years, simply re-register enterprises, and, taking advantage of this, allow violations", - Victor Tutelyan, scientific director of FSBI "FRS Nutrition and Biotechnology pointed out one of the important problems of the food industry.

According to him, the solution to this situation should be the return of external state audit, which would force the managers of enterprises to comply with the law and quality requirements.

In October 2023, the Center of Competence in the field of food products of RusQuality (Roskachevo) was established. The task of the Center is to convey information about the practice of compliance with the principles of the HACCP quality standard at enterprises to business in the simplest language possible, to help organizations develop and implement this system not on paper, but in practice, as well as to train internal and external experts in food safety issues in Russia.

Furthermore, the food industry is still faced with the problem of staff shortage due to the fact that the education system does not have time to train the required number of qualified technologists. This, in turn, hinders the successful implementation of the modern HACCP quality standard at enterprises, which is of particular importance for ensuring the safety of food products.
