A New Year's tale on ice: Ilya Averbukh’s Nutcracker show at the RUSSIA EXPO
The RUSSIA EXPO hosted a grand ice show by Olympic figure skating medalist, producer and choreographer Ilya Averbukh The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.
"This is a very ambitious production, but it can’t be any other way at the RUSSIA EXPO. We are happy to have the chance to show our performance here, and I am sure there will be a huge number of people during the New Year vacations here. I really hope that our performance will become a decoration of the Exposition", — said Ilya Averbukh.
The roles of the girl Masha and the Nutcracker were performed by Olympic champions in pair figure skating Tatiana Totmyanina and Maxim Marinin. Alexey Yagudin, the 2002 Olympic champion, appeared as the Mouse King. The show is based on instrumental parts of Tchaikovsky’s classical ballet.
The show will be performed at the RUSSIA EXPO from December 29, 2023 to January 14, 2024, except for January 1 and 2.
Start of performances:
December 29 through 30 at 17:00,
December 31 at 11:00,
January 3-7 at 17:00,
January 8 and 10-14 twice daily at 17:00 and 18:30.
During the all-Russian survey "What does the Motherland begin with?", people across the country are answering this question in their own way, opening up the innermost corners of their souls.
Souvenir nevalyashkas (traditional Russian roly-poly dolls), are attracting particular attention, with guests choosing them for their harmonious combination of Russian colour and traditional Chinese symbols.
Under the guidance of artisans, each guest made an unusual souvenir that can become either a personal talisman or a gift with a special story.
