Premiere of the film "Call Sign 'Passenger" at the RUSSIA EXPO
A premiere of the movie "Call Sign 'Passenger"
with the participation of actors and crew took place at the International RUSSIA
EXPO.
The plot is
based on the novel by Alexander Prokhanov "Killing Cities". The
movie was produced by "Film Company Alliance" with the support of the
Cinema Fund. The role of director and screenwriter was assumed by Ilya
Kazankov. Producers were Maxim Korolev and Olga Zhuravleva.
The film
was presented by members of the crew, as well as performers of the main roles:
Anton Shagin, Sergei Gorobchenko, Alexei Shevchenkov, Nadezhda Markina and
others. The movie also starred Vitaly Kishchenko, Vladimir Steklov,
Lyuba Bakhankova and others.
Producer of
the picture Maxim Korolev emphasized the importance of holding the premiere of
the film exactly at the RUSSIA EXPO.
"Today
is a very important and exciting day for our entire crew - we release the picture,
which we have been working on for the past year. Today we have the
national premiere of the movie. Now representatives of all 89 regions of our
country are present in the hall thanks to the Exposition," Maxim Korolev
said.
Maxim Korolev added that part of the production profit from the distribution of the film in cinemas will be sent to the fighters who are in the zone of the special military operation.
Actor of
theater and cinema, poet, performer of the main role in the film Anton Shagin
noted that such a film is very relevant.
"I
believe that we are one of the pioneers who touched on this difficult and
burning topic in order to try to comprehend and show the truth, which concerns
a huge number of Russian people. This is a movie about human relations.
It teaches to love the Motherland, Russian woman, who fell in love with the
hero not because he drives a cool car or earns a lot, but because he is a man
with normal human qualities, whom you can follow and with whom you can create a
family," said Anton Shagin.
Alexander
Prokhanov called the movie a work of art, which was created with excellent
actors and a wonderful director.
"While
we are watching the movie, while we are experiencing, applauding, smiling,
there, in Donbass, people are fighting, storming, dying, cursing, praying,
adoring, hating. This movie, while remaining a work of art, is a weapon.
We created it, conceived it as a weapon, as a battlefield movie. We hope that
this film will help us win," said writer Alexander Prokhanov.
Director
and screenwriter of the movie Ilya Kazankov said that the idea to create the
film belongs to the producer of the picture Maxim Korolev.
"He
offered me to get in touch with the prose of Alexander Prokhanov. I
responded with consent. For us it was very important to translate visual images
into cinematic language without losing the meaning. The idea, which can be
traced in the book, remained in the movie. It was one of the important elements
in the work. I would very much like the picture to impress the viewer,"
said Ilya Kazankov.
The picture
is released in Russian distribution on March 14, 2024 by "Atmosphere
Cinema" in partnership with the TV channel "Russia". The
plot of the movie unfolds in 2015. A young writer Nikolai Ryabinin lives in the
capital, spends evenings in fashionable establishments and is not particularly
interested in the agenda, until he learns from his parents that his brother,
with whom he has long since fallen out, is missing in Donbass. Nikolai sets out
to find him, not suspecting that this mission will change his life forever.
