The RUSSIA EXPO hosted the premiere of a play based on the Russian folk tale "Finist the Bright Falcon's Feather" from Alexander Afanasyev's collection. It was staged in Pavilion No. 84 "House of Culture" as part of the "Istok" project.

The plot of the fairy tale tells about the power of inner intuition, which can lead a person in a different, difficult, but extremely interesting and important way, said the creative producer of the performance, actress Sofya Ernst  she is credited with the idea of the production.

"I've wanted to work with this fairy tale for a long time. I once wanted to play the role of Maryushka — and the idea grew into a production project. This girl went on such adventures and did not give up. There are restless people who follow their inner voice. That's why the fairy tale resonates with me — I consider myself one of those people. The fairy tale tells children that if you follow the call of your heart, it will not deceive you. You should go and not be afraid — and if you are honest and kind, the whole world will help you. And even trials are just a help that will toughen you up," said Sofya Ernst.

Nowadays children's content is gradually beginning to appear, but mass culture is only at the beginning of this path, said the director of the performance Alina Nasibullina.

"In the course of the performance, we decipher the meanings that are embedded in the plots of fairy tales, together with children. As a director, in the production I want to say that for the sake of love we can go through any trials. The main thing we teach children is to never give up and believe in their dreams," said Alina Nasibullina.

"Istok" is an author's project of actress and producer Sofya Ernst. It is dedicated to the development and popularization of Russian folk culture among young people. The program of the project will include thematic lectures and masterclasses, lessons of traditional singing, choreography and other events. Among them is an immersive performance "Wedding" dedicated to the folk traditions of marriage. In addition, guests of the Exposition will be able to take part in traditional game rites.
