Turn into fairy and develop imagination: Theater masterclasses at St. Petersburg's stand
A theater
makeup artist can turn a young man into an old wicked witch in half an hour.
While simple, at first glance, exercises can unleash the actor's potential in
each of us. Bright masterclasses are held during the Ballet Week. All guests of
the RUSSIA EXPO can take participate in them free of charge.
From March
5 to 11 in Pavilion No. 75 the exposition of St. Petersburg is hosting Ballet
Week - a joint project of the Boris Eifman Academy of Dance and the Manege
Central Exposition Hall. The guests have already managed to see brilliant
performances of the Academy students, meet with actress and choreographer Alla
Sigalova, take part in a dance flash mob and, of course, learn a lot of
interesting things at the masterclasses.
For
example, thanks to the theater and cinema makeup artist, teacher of the Academy
Daria Tokmakova, the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO saw a real transformation. A
young girl turned into the evil fairy Carabosse from "Sleeping
Beauty": old and frightening.
You really can't do without makeup in a ballet. Especially considering that the part of Carabosse is usually performed by men. During the masterclass, ballet history teacher Sergei Laletin showed his own photos in character. Many people could not believe that the young man turned into an evil old woman only with the help of makeup, without any plastic overlays and other effects.
No less entertaining was a masterclass on plastic expressiveness from the creative couple Lugovkins. Dmitry is an actor of theater and cinema, and Maria is a teacher of the Academy. The couple showed several exercises that help to loosen up, develop imagination, become more attentive and better interact with a partner on stage. Participants of the masterclass portrayed fright, "walked" on snow and coals, copied each other and had a lot of fun.
Let us remind you that on March 9-11, guests will enjoy creative meetings with ballet stars, lectures, masterclasses, including those on theatrical makeup and acting, as well as interactive events, choreographic performances, and quizzes. In addition, an exposition of ballet costumes and screenings of ballet-themed documentaries are available all week.
