A country with various flavours: guests of the National Centre RUSSIA share their impressions of the Gastronomic Rows
The gastronomic zone "Journey Across Russia. Food"
is open for guests of the National Centre RUSSIA from Tuesday to Sunday from
10:00 to 20:00. Visitors can get acquainted with the diverse cuisine of our
country at the thematic corners "South", "North",
"West" and "East". The project allows guests to take a
culinary trip across Russia, to get acquainted with the gastronomic diversity
of the country, and to get emotional impressions from the cultural and culinary
traditions of different parts of Russia.
"Our children are delighted with the Far Eastern
chebureks, and my husband and I discovered the dish called chudu. Now we are
planning a trip to Dagestan!" said Vera from Moscow.
Traditional chudu with fillings of halal beef, cheese,
pumpkin, potatoes, and with various additional ingredients are served at the
"South" corner. Far Eastern chebureks are presented at the
"East" corner. There, you can try whole sets of mini chebureks
"Flavors of the Far East", with cucumber and wild leek sauces. They
are filled with Siberian salmon and cod, with commander squid, with venison and
fern, and with Kamchatka crab. The "North" corner serves black dumplings
with venison and lingonberry sauce, which are very popular among the visitors.
"I have never thought that venison dumplings could be
so tender," said Oleg, a tourist from Nizhny Novgorod.
At the "West" corner, guests are offered
traditional Tula-Ryazan curd fritters with jam and sour cream, while at the
"North" corner visitors can appreciate a variation of this dish
served with whipped sour cream and freeze-dried raspberries.
"My five-year-old son has tried the local curd fritters
for the first time, and after that visit he demands that we cook them at home
only "like in that magical place." So, whether you want to or not,
you'll have to learn," says Natalia.
The Gastronomic Rows also host workshops and cooking demonstrations, as well as educational projects from chefs of the corners.
The project "Journey Across Russia. Food" at the National Centre RUSSIA helps guests to literally taste the country. The "South", "North", "West" and "East" themed areas feature traditional dishes from different parts of Russia. In each of them, you can order lunch with all its traditional components — from soup to dessert.
The current volcanic eruptions in Kamchatka will attract the increased attention of tourists — not only from Russia, but also from other countries.
As part of the multimedia display titled "Journey Across Russia", the National Centre RUSSIA presents an exposition dedicated to the natural resources of the Ural Federal District.
