Exploration and production of natural resources was discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
Geological exploration, mineral extraction and prospects of
subsoil use until 2050 were discussed at the plenary session "Subsoil Use
for a Stable Future: The Era of Revival" held at the RUSSIA EXPO.
"Subsoil use has always been the backbone of the
Russian economy, a pillar for sustainable socio-economic development of
regions, a basis for the well-being of citizens and the basis for the
technological sovereignty of the country," Deputy Prime Minister of the
Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko emphasized in her welcoming speech, opening
the session via video conference call.
She noted that thanks to the joint work of the state and
private companies, the industry is improving its performance and developing at
an accelerated pace despite the sanctions. Priority areas of work have been
defined by the President and are aimed at reducing the dependence of the
domestic industry on imports of scarce mineral raw materials.
The profession of exploration geologist is conservative, Russian geology is over three hundred years old, said Evgeny Petrov, Head of the Federal Agency for Mineral Resources of the Russian Federation. But this is exactly why the industry should be the flagship of innovation: "The industry should focus on the creation of new energy production technologies: hydrogen, solar, and traditional: hydro and nuclear energy, functioning on a new foundation of new technologies. To achieve such results, it is necessary to fundamentally change the attitude to the reproduction and future development of the raw material base. The emergence of new digital mechanisms will help to attract financing to exploration and production."
Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostech State
Corporation, Igor Kobzev, Governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Demidov, CEO of
Polar Lithium LLC, Andrei Zarubin, General Director of NEFTISA Oil Company JSC,
and Yuri Panov, Rector of the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State Geological
Exploration University, also spoke about the industry's successes, work
experience and interaction with it in their regions and departments.
One of the tracks of the Open Dialogue is "Investments in Human Capital." The pitch session on this topic brought together over 30 speakers.
One of the key topics for discussion within the initiative became "Investments in Connectivity," which attracted 24% of the essay authors about the future of the world.
The pitch sessions on four tracks took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on April 28, with the participation of authors whose essays were selected by the expert council of the National Centre.
