Development and potential: the exposition "Fishing Industry" at the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region presents the sector of the region
"Fishing Industry" will be one of the expositions
of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region. Here, visitors will be
able to learn about the achievements of the sector in the region.
In the "Fishing Industry" zone, a screen will
display the main indicators and new capacities of the region’s fishing industry
complex. The Primorye region is rightly one of the leaders in fish catch in the
Russian Far East. Nineteen percent of the total Russian fish catch comes from
Primorye. In 2024, enterprises of the region harvested 900,000 tonnes of fish
and seafood. The main commercial species are pollock, iwashi sardine, herring,
crab, and squid.
The fishing industry complex of Primorye supplies the
domestic market and exports, as well as feed products for agriculture, and
components for the chemical, pharmacological and cosmetics industries.
It is also significant that the Primorye region pays close
attention to ecology. Fish-breeding plants release juvenile chum salmon, sea
cucumber and scallop into their natural habitats. In the region, pollock is
caught using pelagic trawl — fishing takes place only in the water column,
without touching the seabed or disturbing the flora and fauna of the ocean. The
protection of marine biological resources includes state monitoring and
supervision, combating poaching and replenishing aquatic biological resources.
The exposition will provide a full picture of the fishing
industry of Primorye, while other interactive thematic expositions will reveal
the region in all its diversity.
The festive programme dedicated to the opening of the branch
of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region will take place on 7
