On October 14, the thematic week of the Nenets Autonomous Area (NAA) started at the National Centre RUSSIA. A trip to the edge of the earth, where the endless tundra meets the icy expanses of the Arctic, completes the cycle of presentations made by seven subjects of the country who were the first to participate in the exposition "Region-2030. The Platform of the Future."

On 15 October, at 11:00, an open dialogue with Irina Gekht, Governor of the NAA, will be held under the project "Platform of the Future: Region-2030. 100 steps". The conversation will be informative, and is going to touch upon a range of topics from cooperation with subsurface user companies to the Arctic’s fragile ecosystem. Special attention will be paid to the quality of life — the concrete initiatives in medicine, education and transport infrastructure, which, on the eve of the region’s 100th anniversary in 2029, have already been changing the lives of Northerners for the better.

Performances by the ethno-team "Hayerako' Sey", which means "Sunny Heart" in Nenets, are going to become the cultural discovery of the day. The musicians will present the local folklore in a modern interpretation, at the same time preserving its soul for new generations. Through the hypnotic pounding of a shaman's tambourine, the cries of seagulls and throat singing, they will make the audience feel as if it is on the shore of the rough Barents Sea.

At 14:00, during a workshop conducted by Tatyana Bobretsova, chef of the restaurant "Frigate in Pustozyorsk", attendees will have a chance not only to taste dishes made from local products, but also to learn how to cook them, and to adopt the philosophy of northern cuisine with its three pillars: simplicity, naturalness, and respect for the gifts of the tundra.

The eventful programme of the day will feature a series of round tables and meetings. At 13:00, Artur Orlov, Chairman of the Board of the Movement of the First, Hero of the Russian Federation, will meet with active representatives of the children's and youth movement of the Nenets Autonomous Area. The youngsters will be able to ask their questions and get a boost of motivation for future success. Then, at 16:30, members of the Interregional Public Organization "Association of fellow-countrymen of the Nenets Autonomous Area" in Moscow will discuss issues of interregional cooperation over a cup of tea.

On 18 October, at 12:00, the educational intensive programme titled "Encyclopedia of the Arctic", featuring a comprehensive immersion into the unique environment of the region through the prism of tourism, economics and culture, will be held for everyone. The event participants will not only receive practical travel tips, but will also have a chance to win a trip to Shoyna, a distinctive polar village in the border area.

The Days of the Regions are held from September to October within the framework of the exposition "Region-2030. The Platform of the Future" at the National Centre RUSSIA. The attendees of the previous thematic weeks got acquainted in detail with the Republic of Dagestan, the Voronezh, Tula, Amur and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as with the Jewish Autonomous Region. The Nenets Autonomous Area completes a series of regional presentations. From 14 to 19 October, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to discover the centuries-old culture of the peoples of the North and see the future of the Russian Arctic.
