"Robots are starting to create robots that produce goods for humans": Yuri Kozarenko at SPIEF 2025
The issue of introducing breakthrough technologies became one of the key topics during the session "Shaping a New Platform for Global Growth" at SPIEF 2025 on June 18. The session was organized by the National Centre RUSSIA, following the large-scale international Open Dialogue, held at the National Centre RUSSIA in April 2025.
The session was moderated by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. The discussion was attended by internationally recognized experts from Russia, Cameroon, Spain, Azerbaijan and Canada, as well as the authors of the best essays of the Open Dialogue.
The session was held in the format of thematic discussions, one of which was devoted to the introduction of new technologies, artificial intelligence, unmanned systems and automation.
As Yuri Kozarenko, General Director of Transport of the Future LLC, noted, automation has reached a level today when robots create robots to produce goods and services for humans.
"This year has become significant, it shows a breakthrough in the technological development of artificial intelligence. Several centers, schools, and institutes have been opened in China to train robots in various specialties. In Russia, in turn, we are opening robot training centers in the Samara Region and Moscow, including the Institute of Unmanned Systems. We teach robots to bring social benefits in a cost-effective way," emphasized Yuri Kozarenko.
The expert noted that such technological innovations today have a direct impact on social spheres, for example, they help to solve the demographic crisis.
"Who will be working in agriculture tomorrow? Who will ensure the operation of the production complex and other industries? By solving the problem of demography with help of unmanned systems, we can overcome this problem radically, in a cost-effective way. Having found a solution here, we will be able to scale it to other territories both in the world and in the development of our partners," added Yuri Kozarenko.
According to him, more than 500,000 agricultural drones are already used in the world. The speaker stressed that the Russian Federation has set a goal: to process more than 80 million hectares using agricultural drones within five years.
"About the same number is the potential number of vacancies, given the huge growing demand. In Russia alone, the market for goods that can be transported by drones is estimated at $500 billion. 500 billion is something that is suitable for unmanned transportation in terms of weight and size," said Yuri Kozarenko.
As moderator Maxim Oreshkin noted during the discussion on the technology block, automation is permeating all institutions today.
"The trend towards automation of institutions will expand. This applies primarily to the service sector, which is the most massive segment of employment. This will also apply to logistics, and it is closely related to trade. All processes between the production of goods or services and the consumer will become more efficient," Maxim Oreshkin emphasized.
The results of the session "Shaping a new platform for Global Growth" became the basis for the subsequent SPIEF 2025 business program.
