Roman and Oksana Kostomarov: the National Centre RUSSIA is moving in the right direction
Education for young people is our future. Every young person
must know the great country they live in and learn its history. In this sense,
the National Centre RUSSIA has chosen a very correct and essential direction.
Olympic figure skating champion Roman Kostomarov and his wife, world champion
Oksana Kostomarova (Domnina), shared this with the Press Office of the National
Centre RUSSIA.
"The National Centre RUSSIA is a place where people
come together, communicate, and discover something meaningful for themselves.
We keep up with the times and aim to nurture pride in our country. In my view,
this is right, because for a long time young people had a rather neglected attitude towards themselves and their country. Today, the National Centre
RUSSIA is moving in the right direction, creating a space for educating young
people, helping them understand the great country they live in and learn the
history of their state. Education for young people is indeed our future,"
said Roman Kostomarov in a conversation with the Press Office of the National
Centre RUSSIA.
Roman’s wife, figure skater Oksana Kostomarova, also
highlighted the role of the Centre in the cultural and educational life of the
country: "It is wonderful that various screenings of significant films take
place here. For example, during the RUSSIA EXPO, the documentary 'Roman
Kostomarov: Born Twice' premiered. Thank you very much for that."
Roman and Oksana Kostomarov took part in the 17th
All-Russian Blood Service Forum. More than 1,200 representatives of government
bodies, non-profit organisations, volunteer and donor movements, and the media
from all regions of the country gathered at the National Centre RUSSIA to
discuss the present and future of transfusion medicine in Russia.
"This is a very important event. I probably survived
only because there was an opportunity to receive blood transfusions. I had
massive blood loss, and without donor blood I would have had no chance of
survival. There are many people like me who may need donor help. That is why it
is so important to pay attention to this," said Roman Kostomarov.
