Rosatom to hold a federal "Digital Lesson" on quantum technologies

On April 24, the ATOM Pavilion of the International RUSSIA EXPO will host an open federal "Digital Lesson" "Journey into the Micro Universe: Quantum Computing and Medicine of the Future". Schoolchildren will be told about the application of quantum technologies, as well as future professions at the intersection of physics, biology and chemistry.

The meeting at ATOM will be a highlight of the all-Russian educational project "Digital Lesson" on quantum topics, which is organized by Rosatom in partnership with the ANO "Digital Economy" and takes place from April 8 to 30 in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The young guests of the lesson will be 200 schoolchildren from Moscow science schools who will discuss with the heads of Rosatom and federal ministries the prospects of professions related to future technologies, as well as overcoming difficulties in choosing a career path. More than 2000 schoolchildren from all over the country will join the meeting in an online format.

Deputy Prime Ministers Tatyana Golikova and Dmitry Chernyshenko, Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko and others will express their opinions on the technological future in video messages. The event will be conducted by Dmitry Pobedinsky, author of the popular science video blog "Physics from Pobedinsky". Schoolchildren will enjoy an interactive program about "quanta", a masterclass by young scientists, and a quiz on quantum physics.

The keynote of the "Digital Lesson" will be expressed by the main character of the movie, who will be presented at the event. She is fond of physics and biology, and wants to choose a profession that will allow to combine both sciences. The girl goes on a journey through the micro universe, during which Russian scientists introduce her to new technologies related to the use of quantum computing and allowing to create effective medicines, fight viruses, study the structure of the brain, decipher the structure of DNA.

The theme of this year's quantum "Digital Lesson" is related to the key agenda of the Future Technologies Forum 2024, an annual flagship event that presents technologies and innovative scientific developments that determine the vector of development of economic sectors in the coming years.

The organizers of the "Digital Lesson" project are the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Ministry of Digital Development and the ANO "Digital Economy" in partnership with leading Russian technology companies, implemented within the framework of the federal project "Human Resources for the Digital Economy" of the national project "Digital Economy".

Popularization of quantum technologies among schoolchildren and students in order to further establish the industry's talent pool is one of the key objectives of Rosatom State Corporation as part of the "Quantum Computing" roadmap. In 2023, more than 3.5 million schoolchildren from all subjects of the Russian Federation took a lesson on quantum technologies. For the first time in the history of the project, the "Digital Lesson" was held abroad - in Minsk, the capital of the Republic of Belarus.

The federal educational project "Digital Lesson" provides an opportunity for early career guidance for schoolchildren, telling by simple examples what career prospects are possible in the field of quantum computing. In the 2024 lesson we wanted to introduce students to the possibilities of combining interests in physics, biology, chemistry and choosing a career in quantum computing. Our lesson is about the professions of the future - about people who will develop new medicines, study the human brain, fight epidemics, develop new materials and improve the quality of human life".

The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered on one platform. Throughout the Exposition, cultural events, a rich business and educational program await the guests. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. More than 10 million people have already visited the Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place at VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
