A wide range of relevant topics — from demographic trends and global urbanization to international scientific and technological cooperation and digital outer space -- will be discussed by participants of the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future" on October 7-8, 2025 in Moscow, at the National Centre RUSSIA. The annual Symposium, organized on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin under the auspices of the Decade of Science and Technology in our country, will unite more than 7,000 experts from the SCO and BRICS countries, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and the United States, to develop positive scenarios for the future.

The expert programme of the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future" is based on the strategic task of developing the positive scenarios of the future and their visualization. It includes such tracks as "Society", "Technology", and "Global Cooperation", where futuristic forecasts will be discussed.

The track "Society" is dedicated to society, its image and transformations in various fields. Leading minds from different countries will discuss overcoming the global demographic crisis, the opportunities and challenges of urbanization, the future of culture and the impact of social architecture on society, changes in the labor market, the prospects for collaboration between cities and corporations, foreign and Russian practices of creating a visual code.  There will also be a kind of futurological media laboratory to develop inspiring images and ideas about the future world. Much attention will be paid to building scenarios for the future at the intersection of science and creativity, and the analysis of the design processes themselves.

The "Technology" track will focus on key applied innovations that shape the future here and now. Among the topics to be discussed are cybersecurity, biotechnologies of the future — from organ printing to DNA editing, features of creating materials of the future, digital outer space, and the introduction of artificial intelligence.

The "Global Cooperation" track will focus on presentation of initiatives and search for new solutions in the field of humanitarian cooperation. There will be analyzed the meanings and values that can unite humanity; the image of global cooperation and interaction of individual countries, in particular Russia and Africa; the image of the joint future of our country and the Global South in megaprojects, and much more.

At each of the tracks, Russian and foreign experts will have an extensive work together at the intersection of science, technology, humanitarian knowledge, and imagination. To become a participant, submit an online application on the main page of the website: future.russia.ru

The events of the Symposium will result in futuristic forecasts that can be monitored, discussed, and adjusted. Statesmen, scientists and researchers, representatives of the technology sector, futurologists, forecasters, and representatives of the creative industries will take part in the exchange of experience and the development of positive scenarios for the future. Special attention will be paid to participation of young professionals, in order to increase their involvement in promising projects.

In addition, an open space for discussions will become a new stage in the development of the Symposium: a large-scale open educational programme is being prepared for everyone who wants to take part in inventing the future. It will show the synthesis of science, technology and art in the space of ideas about the future, and will talk in simple language about complex and important things. Participants of all ages will receive inspiring presentations about space, quantum breakthroughs, technological innovations and images of the future in culture and art. They will also get an opportunity to contribute to the joint design of a techno-optimistic future. Registration of participants of the open programme will begin in September at future.russia.ru
