RT summarized the results of the II International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes" at the RUSSIA EXPO
The closing
ceremony of the II International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc: Time
of Our Heroes" dedicated to the participants of the special military
operation was held at the RUSSIA EXPO.
Over the
three days of the festival, the audience saw 13 films - about fighters and
military medics, war correspondents and volunteers from the front and rear,
chronicles of battles and everyday life of rescuers. The guests of the festival
talked to the creators and heroes of the documentaries and took part in
discussions. Independent documentary filmmakers Maxim Fadeev and Sergei Belous
held a round table discussion on "Military Documentary". They talked
how movies are made in war conditions and also shared their memories of the
very beginning of the conflict in Donbass in 2014.
"We
show the war as it is: with human pain, suffering. It is important to carry the
image of our time for future generations. To preserve the memory of ordinary
fighters. Break indifference and flippant public perception of the war and the
enemy," shared Maxim Fadeev.
"The
Film about the Iron Man" is a movie of the author Elena Norkunaite and
director Abas Ali-Zadeh about a resident of Crimea with indomitable willpower:
after a severe injury, he lost both legs, but did not lose faith in himself.
"When
I was in the hospital, I saw guys with injuries, complete apathy and
unwillingness to live. These are the ones who need to be supported morally and
physically. I see this as my goal, my mission. If by some miracle I survived
after such a serious injury, it means that I am still needed here for
something," shares the protagonist of the film, Lieutenant Ilya Kazakov.
At the
closing ceremony, accompanied by the Moscow Variety Orchestra under the
direction of Anton Semke, famous poets performed: Maria Vatutina, Dmitry Artis,
Sofia Yudina, Alexander Antipov, Anastasia Orlova, Igor Karaulov.
All
documentary filmmakers, participants of the festival, received commemorative
diplomas.
"The
films are absolutely different. And at each screening there is a special
atmosphere in the hall. People were crying, proud, worried, inspired. Different
stories, different characters and different emotions. And all of them are very
necessary and very important," said Ekaterina Yakovleva, Head of
Documentary Broadcasting at RT and General Producer of the festival.
All films
by RT documentary filmmakers dedicated to the heroes are available on the
24-hour RT.Doc channel.
