The northernmost greenhouse complex, Kandinsky and the wealth of forests: Komi Republic Day
Leadership in terms of the number of specially protected natural areas, modernization of existing industries and creation of new ones. The RUSSIA EXPO is hosting the Day of the Republic of Komi, a region that is 80% covered with forests and deservedly holds the title of "the lungs of the European North".
Vladimir Uyba, Head of the Komi Republic, presented the northernmost greenhouse complex of the fifth generation built in Sosnogorsk, as well as a giant feed mill at the Zelenetskaya poultry farm. The head of the region also spoke about an example of business success of the MakBush coffee company from Syktyvkar, which managed to compete with the recognized leaders in coffee sales.
"Thanks to the development of the regional transport system, Komi is becoming a region linking the transport flows of the Far North of European Russia and northeastern Siberia with the industrial centers of our country. This has become possible thanks to a comprehensive infrastructure modernization plan approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In addition, on the instructions of the President, the Republic of Komi was granted funds for the implementation of a program to convert coal-fired boiler stations to biofuel. This will allow us to fully utilize the created capacities for the production of briquettes and pellets for the needs of the Republic", — said Vladimir Uyba, Head of the Komi Republic.
Alexander Gutsan, Russian Presidential Envoy to the Northwestern Federal District, invited the guests of the exposition to go on a quest dedicated to the project Silver Necklace of Russia — the cultural and tourist potential of all 11 regions of the Northwest of the country are united here.
"The Northwest is the forge of our country’s defense capability, the main producer of equipment for the energy sector, and the first in mechanical engineering. With the direct support and initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, new roads, bridges, ice arenas, swimming pools, port terminals, new modern industrial enterprises are being built", — emphasized Alexander Gutsan.
The fate of artist Vasily Kandinsky is closely related to the region. A number of events were dedicated to him. Among them was an art tour, which allowed each guest to feel like a master of art for a while. Gastronomic workshops and a colorful marriage ceremony according to the folk ritual tradition were also arranged for the guests of the exposition.
The attendees of the strategic session determined and analyzed key issues, and exchanged successful municipal practices.
July 30 is the last day of the expositions' work. A chain of final events will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA on this day.
