Saint Petersburg invites you to a family season at the RUSSIA EXPO
From June 18 to 30, the Saint Petersburg stand will host the
"Family" season. The program will highlight the city as an ideal
place for living, starting a family, working and leisure, attracting families
from all over the country.
Saint Petersburg, embodying historical heritage and
modernity, reflects the aspiration for progress and improvement of life quality
in every corner. The city strives to remain well-maintained, modern,
family-friendly and safe for all its residents and visitors. The main idea of
the exposition: Petersburg is the future for living, starting a family, working
and relaxing.
On the opening day of the season, visitors will enjoy the
"Razygralis Udaltsy" (lit. “Brave Fellows Are Playful”) program by
the children's choir studio "Zateya", where everyone can recall old
family games and fun activities. There will also be a raffle for the season's
grand prize — an 18-day trip to the "Zarya" boarding house in Saint
Petersburg. Every day, candidates will be selected from the "Family is a
Bridge Between the Past and the Future" quiz to enter the final draw for
the trip on June 29.
Over the two weeks, guests of the Exposition can participate
in fascinating masterclasses. For example, they can create a protective doll
called the "Petersburg Angel" using macramé techniques or a wooden
ship-weathervane called "Scarlet Sails". Participants can also make
jewelry using beads and thread or craft a cat-shaped pendant from fabric and
accessories. Some masterclasses, such as creating a family crest or sending a
homemade postcard to loved ones, can become symbolic for generations and remain
long in memory.
In the photo zone, visitors will encounter the "Tree of
Wishes for Families in 2035" — a symbol of strong families and a
connection with our ancestors, embodying growth and spiritual development. On cards
that are prepared beforehand, any visitor can leave their wishes for families
in the future and take a photo against the Tree’s backdrop.
Ambassadors for the "Family" season include
Merited Artist of Russia Galina Bokashevskaya, vocal duo "Brothers Slavs",
Mariinsky Theatre soloist Anna Denisova, instrumental group
"NevaMusics", "Na Liteynom" Theatre actor Sergei
Shaposhnikov, "Terem-Quartet" ensemble soloist Alexei Barshchev and
singer, concert host, director Antonina Gudkova.
The Saint Petersburg exposition, visited by over 4 million people, is designed like a cinema hall and showcases various facets of the city. Thematic weeks, such as maritime, tourism, environmental and health — totaling 22 — unveil the results and directions of work in different areas of the city's development.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
