Lectures on the chemical industry and materials of the future, consultations from scientists, workshops and open classes, as well as a concert program. On January 25, the Day of Basic Industries and Consumer Goods from the Ministry of Industry and Trade will be held at the International RUSSIA EXPO.

Pavilion 34 (Space)

- 13:00. The lecture of the Ministry of Industry and Trade "Chemistry Around Us: What Secrets Does Everyday Life Keep?"

It is no secret that products of the chemical industry have firmly entered our lives. They help us to preserve our health, beauty and youth, make our existence more comfortable and safer. Maria Ivanova, CEO of the Russian Union of Chemists organization, Head of Projects of Skolkovo Foundation will tell more about the mysterious world of the chemical industry.

Pavilion E (Wink Cinema)

- 13:00. Ministry of Industry and Trade lecture "Inspiring the Future: How to Become a Scientist in the Chemical Industry?"

 The event will be held by Sofya Shekhovaya, scientific adviser of the children's technopark Mendeleev Center. The lecturer will tell how to develop a child's interest in chemistry and what opportunities and prospects are open to scientists.

- 13:15. Open lesson of the Ministry of Industry and Trade "Hydrogen: The First Element for the Energy of the Future"

Engineers of the Hydrogen Energy Center of Sistema JSFC Yan Timashpolsky and Ivan Lomakin will introduce participants to the energy of the future and tell how hydrogen can create environmentally friendly fuel solutions for transport, industry and household needs.

- 14:00. Ministry of Industry and Trade lecture "Supermaterials Based on Fibers that are Thinner than Hair and Stronger than Steel"

Chemistry combines such things as a modern sports car and the most ordinary broom. Can't believe it? Then come to a lecture from YUMATEX project manager Evgeny Belyakov. You will learn whether it is possible to make a hockey stick using space technologies and how to program smart materials.

- 14:00. Workshop of the Ministry of Industry and Trade "The World of Chemistry"

Participants will be given a short interesting lecture about chemistry, and then they will be able to conduct various experiments on mixing and reaction of substances. You will see how liquid nitrogen works and witness amazing chemical reactions.

- 16:00. Workshop of the Ministry of Industry and Trade "Chemical Algae"

It turns out that chemical experiments can be conducted at home. The workshop will tell and show how to mix crystals and a special liquid to make chemical algae. Children will surely enjoy growing these at home.

Pavilion 75 (Cultural Projects Zone)

- 17:30. Concert program of the Zvezdochka (Star) musical group of the Research Institute of Applied Chemistry, director Dmitry Elkhov, Sergiev Posad. The program will include both the band's own compositions and cover versions of folk hits.
