Six Ural couples got married at the RUSSIA EXPO
On May 15,
six couples from the regions of the Ural Federal District got married at the
Exposition. The ceremony was performed as part of the First All-Russian Wedding
Festival, which is held in partnership with the Moscow City Government.
On the
fourth day of the festival, one couple from the Kurgan, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk
regions, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area - Yugra, as well as two couples from
the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area tied the knot. The newlyweds also took part
in the festive procession from the Arch of the Main Entrance to the Main Street
Stage together with regional creative groups.
The
newlyweds were handed the flame of the All-Russian Family Hearth “Heart of
Russia”, which was lit at the Exposition during the ceremony of launching the
Year of the Family with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin
on January 23.
The union
of Dmitry and Antonina from the Tyumen region, who married at the Exposition,
is unusual: they were both born on the same day.
"The
uniqueness of our couple is that we were born on the same day - March 8. And
eight is infinity and happiness," said Dmitry.
They
admitted that they were delighted to get married at the RUSSIA EXPO. "We
are very glad, our expectations were fully met! Siberia is a very hospitable
region. All the guests of the Exposition also became guests of our wedding,"
Antonina shared her impressions.
After the
solemn wedding ceremony, creative groups from the regions of the Ural Federal
District: Kurgan, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as
Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area - Yugra also
performed on stage.
The
All-Russian Wedding Festival on the site of the RUSSIA EXPO is being held for
the first time. It started on the Red Hill (Second Sunday of Easter), May 12,
when the largest mass simultaneous wedding ceremony took place. 151 couples
took part in it. All the week - until May 19 - the Exposition hosts thematic
days dedicated to the stages of the wedding rite, various customs. Each of them
will be linked to the traditions of Russia's regions and peoples.
On July 10, the II All-Russian Wedding Festival "Russia. Uniting Hearts" finished its work at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The open dialogue "Values of the Future" was held at the National Centre RUSSIA as part of the II All-Russian Wedding Festival "Russia. Uniting Hearts".
