Averina sisters hosted "Fitness with Knowledge" at the RUSSIA EXPO
On June 27, near Pavilion No. 75, a workout session was held with two of the world's most talented gymnasts and Tokyo 2020 Olympic heroines, Dina and Arina Averina, organized by the Russian Society "Knowledge".
Visitors to the RUSSIA EXPO had a unique opportunity to start their morning with the renowned champions. During the training session led by these outstanding athletes, VDNH guests were able to learn the basics of rhythmic gymnastics, improve their physical fitness, and most importantly, receive valuable advice from true sports legends.
After the active sports session, Dina and Arina Averina visited the studio of the educational TV channel Knowledge.TV. In a live broadcast, the athletes discussed the importance of promoting sports in Russia.
"Many people lose motivation, so it is essential to popularize our sport. We travel to different cities, where we conduct masterclasses in rhythmic gymnastics, thus inspiring children. There have been cases where parents wrote to us saying their child wanted to quit, but after meeting us, they stayed in the sport," noted Dina Averina.
The broadcast also discussed the significant physical load on the champions. Arina Averina shared how they prepared their bodies for such demands. According to her, the athletes initially did not realize what they were capable of.
"We gradually increased our load, and then competitions were gradually added," concluded Arina Averina.
Let us remind you that Dina and Arina Averina are featured in the "Alley of Glory". This exposition of the achievements of Russian champions was opened by the "Knowledge" Society with the support of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation. The "Alley of Glory" includes 84 personalized steles with nearly 600 genuine gold medals. Since its opening in December 2023, it has been visited by over 3.5 million people.
