Northwestern macroregion: the space of the future
At the session-presentation "Space of the Future"
representatives from the Novgorod, Leningrad, Arkhangelsk regions, as well as
St. Petersburg introduced their projects in educational infrastructure, social
and economic spheres.
St. Petersburg presented projects in three nominations:
infrastructure, tourism and youth. The first project "New Tourist Geography" is
aimed at forming a new urban guest environment.
"Over the past few years, St. Petersburg's tourist flow has
been steadily growing primarily due to an increase in repeated trips. The route
"St. Petersburg. New Geography" is designed to support the image of St.
Petersburg as a friendly, comfortable, lively city where everyone can find many
reasons to return. Each time tourists come to visit us, they want to see a
non-conventional St. Petersburg, to feel a bit like locals, and to visit
popular places. And the new national route gives them such an opportunity,"
said Oksana Lebedeva, Executive Director of the Tari Tour Group of Companies in
St. Petersburg.
Dmitry Pankratov, CEO of Baltnedvizhservis LLC, spoke about
the investment project "Slavyanka", within the framework of which it is planned
to build a tramway line in St. Petersburg with a length of more than 21
kilometers, construct four bridges, as well as a tramway depot.
"The goal of our project is to provide transport
accessibility of new city districts with modern, environmentally friendly, safe
off-street tramway service. We have come
a long way in a few years, moving from presentations to business. Now
full-scale construction works are underway at the construction site,"
emphasized Dmitry Pankratov.
In turn, the
representative of the Arkhangelsk region spoke about the social project to help
children, which was organized by Irina Zvyagina, director of the center for
social assistance to family and children, together with her colleagues.
"Teenage space is a comfortable place, there is modern
equipment, where any teenager can come, where they will be listened to,
accepted, where they will want to come back again. The main peculiarity of the
teenage space is also the fact that the underage children themselves organize
it, starting with the interior design, create, develop ideas, arrange and
conduct activities that they are interested in, and also offer ways to
implement all these activities," said Irina Zvyagina.
Representatives from the Novgorod and Leningrad regions also
presented their tourism and investment projects. At the end of the
presentation, the guests were introduced to the cultural traditions of the
regions.
