Symbols of freedom and equality: whom the paintings "Hope-II" and "The Edge" are dedicated to
At the
National Centre RUSSIA, until February 2, visitors can explore a unique
exposition of works by young artists and view paintings, photographs, art
objects, and sculptures created by authors from Russia, China, India, Brazil,
Ethiopia, and Iran. Each piece is imbued with a special meaning, with artists
using their work to respond to significant challenges of modern times.
Indian
artist Yogesh Kumar, a student of the Kala Bhavana Institute of Fine Arts at
Visva-Bharati University, presents a series of works at the exposition
dedicated to the issue of social inequality. In the painting
"Hope-II," we see several symbolic images: a luxurious armchair, a
transparent figure of a person sitting on it, and a paper boat. Each of these
elements can be interpreted in different ways, yet the overall meaning of the
work is quite clear. The artist wants to help those who are deprived of
financial support and all kinds of class privileges from birth.
The work
"Hope-II" is complemented by a series titled "The Edge." It
addresses the theme of injustice and invites viewers to reflect on free will
and the opposition between individuality and society.
"These
paintings are like a quest — I enjoy guessing what each symbol or even the
choice of colors might mean. Everything here matters. The paintings by Indian
and African artists are the most fascinating for me at this exposition,"
shared Valeria Smirnova, a guest of the National Centre RUSSIA.
"Legacy
for the Future" is a large-scale project by the National Centre RUSSIA,
supporting the idea of a multinational dialogue about the future of the world,
with humanity at its core. The exposition showcases works by young artists who
reflect on the present, express their perspectives on past events, and
contemplate the future through their art.
