Synthesis of traditions and innovations in the heart of the Arctic: the stand of the Nenets Autonomous Area at the exposition "Region-2030. The Platform of the Future"

The grand opening of the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future", which showcases strategic projects and development prospects of the subjects of the Russian Federation, was held at the National Centre RUSSIA. Among the first seven participating regions is the Nenets Autonomous Area, which presented a unique display combining modern multimedia technologies with the cultural heritage of the Arctic.

The stand of the Nenets Autonomous Area, titled "The Spirit of the Arctic", shows the strategic development of the region through the prism of a synthesis of traditions and innovations. The key focus is on the resource potential: 97 hydrocarbon deposits, shelf projects (Prirazlomnoye and Madachagskoye fields), and prospects for the development of the Northern Sea Route by means of construction of the deepwater sea port Indiga.

Special attention is paid to technological development: projects in the field of alternative energy, the use of unmanned aircraft for logistics, and support for reindeer husbandry.

Irina Gekht, Acting Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Area, emphasized the strategic priorities of the region's development at the opening of the exposition:

"For the NAA, the point of growth is the development of the oil industry. Today, the technologies used in the fields are also used in everyday life — in heat supply and small-scale energy. We are actively developing logistics using unmanned vessels. But the main thing is the quality of people's lives. We are introducing distance education technologies and new standards of Arctic medicine. The Nenets Autonomous Area is an original district with a rich culture, traditions and history. The combination of traditions and modern technologies is the synergy in which we see the future of the region."

The display includes interactive areas where guests can get acquainted with the culture of the indigenous peoples of the North, learn about the development of reindeer husbandry as an important element of Russia's food security, and explore the prospects for the socio-economic development of the area.

Presentations, traditional crafts workshops, performances by creative groups and gastronomic events are waiting for visitors during the week of the Nenets Autonomous area on 14 - 22 October.
