The Young Journalists School of the National Centre RUSSIA makes dreams come true

The Young Journalists School of the National Centre RUSSIA is a place where a simple interest can grow into a profession and dreams can become reality. Diana Idiatulina, one of its graduates, has experienced this first-hand. She successfully gained admission to the university of her dreams — Lomonosov Moscow State University — and said that the project at the National Centre RUSSIA had played a major role in making it possible.

"My dream has come true — I am now a student at the Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University. The Young Journalists School of the National Centre RUSSIA helped me prepare for the entrance exams," said Diana Idiatulina, a graduate of the Young Journalists School of the National Centre RUSSIA.

Over several months of training at the School, Diana Idiatulina progressed from a novice writer to a young journalist with her own portfolio of engaging and thought-provoking publications. Meetings with leading journalists and media experts, writing assignments, filming and coverage of events at the National Centre RUSSIA — all of this, she says, provided comprehensive preparation for the entrance exams.

"Here, we learned to write texts, work with facts, write strong headlines, speak in front of an audience and stay composed when faced with unexpected questions. We met star journalists and media experts. They shared their experience, gave us an insight into the profession and offered advice that proved useful during my entrance exams. We created our own projects and covered events at the National Centre RUSSIA. That is how I built my first portfolio and gained the confidence that journalism really is for me," Diana Idiatulina said.

Diana’s story is a vivid example of how, alongside theoretical knowledge, the Young Journalists School of the National Centre RUSSIA gives its students confidence in themselves and a genuine start in the profession.

Young people aged from 12 to 17 can take part in the selection process, and the programme is free of charge. Applications can be submitted until 10 October via the russia.ru website.
