Assemble the map of regions against the clock and join a workout – festive events at the National Centre RUSSIA
Events dedicated to Russia Day are taking place throughout June 12 at the "Journey Across Russia. Food" space of the National Centre RUSSIA. Visitors and staff of the National Centre are joining a dance flash mob and racing to complete interactive maps of our country.
Every 30 minutes, volunteers of the National Centre RUSSIA are leading workouts on the stage of the Gastronomic Rows. There will be eight such activities in total – one for each of the federal districts represented at the "Journey Across Russia" exposition. Before each workout, guests are introduced to the achievements and landmarks of a given federal district, followed by a dance group leading participants in movement to music. The flash mob was opened by a workout at 10:00 dedicated to the Far Eastern Federal District. The final workout will be a dance dedicated to the Northwestern Federal District.
At the same time, the Gastronomic Rows of the National Centre RUSSIA are hosting an open championship in assembling Russia's spils maps, which will run until 16:00. These are maps featuring the outlines of all 89 Russian regions, which improvised teams must assemble against the clock. Participants have 10 minutes to complete the task.
"We came as a family with our children – we're doing it just for the sporting challenge. Our youngest is quite fast. Turns out we know Russian geography well! In just a few minutes we had assembled nearly the entire country," shared the father of the family, Viktor Votinstev.
The most skilled geography experts will receive certificates and commemorative prizes from the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA.
The festive programme at the National Centre RUSSIA will continue with a celebratory concert held as part of the All-Russian classical music marathon "Cantata.Russia." All details are available on the National Centre RUSSIA website in the "Events" section.
