Hundreds of new schools and kindergartens: the "infrastructure of childhood" discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
Education, improvement of families' housing conditions, recreational activities - these and other issues were discussed by experts at the session "Infrastructure Development for Families" at the RUSSIA EXPO.
"Infrastructure is changing in quality. For example, if we talk about preschool education, its availability is almost 100%, and we did not start with such figures. At the same time, we must not forget that we cannot stop overnight, we must continue to maintain and improve accessibility, and any family with children has the right to get a place in a kindergarten when the child reaches preschool age. As for school education, in 2023, 429 school buildings for 250 thousand seats were commissioned and 2400 were renovated. This is a very big figure," said Deputy Minister of Education of Russia Tatyana Vasilyeva.
The expert also elaborated on the importance of increasing the accessibility of children's recreation and developing the infrastructure of supplementary education.
"I will separately note that within the framework of the national project a big focus is placed on children's scientific and technological creativity, growth points in 17 thousand rural schools, 261 centers of digital education and many others have been created, and all these new places provide free supplementary education," she stressed.
Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Evgenia Kotova spoke about the development of healthcare infrastructure.
"Since 2019, within the framework of the national project, the program of construction of children's hospitals began, 29 hospitals are planned to be put into operation until 2024, and it should be said that in 2023, 19 blocks have already been built," said the Deputy Minister of Health.
The participants also discussed the organization of children's leisure time.
"Over the past five years within the national project "Culture" we have managed to modernize 1600 culture houses - first of all, in rural areas and small towns. 1600 children's art schools have been supplied with modern equipment, and 769 art schools have been renovated and have become the modern space for the younger generation. And, of course, we pay a lot of attention to theaters, museums and children's tourism," said Zhanna Alekseeva, Head of the Departmental Project Office of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
