"Thank you for these wonderful celebrations": Lev Leshchenko thanked the National Centre RUSSIA for "Soldiers’ Dreams"
Lev Leshchenko, the enduring performer of the song "Victory Day", highly praised the work of the National Centre RUSSIA to preserve historical memory. The People’s Artist of Russia thanked the organisers for the performance "Soldiers’ Dreams" and other events being held at the venue ahead of the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory.
The artist, whose voice has become the main musical association with the 9 May holiday for several generations of Russians, noted that the National Centre RUSSIA is gradually becoming a place of shared joy and attraction.
"Thank you to the National Centre RUSSIA, which creates these wonderful celebrations. I think it will become a truly special place for us, where we will come to rejoice in one another and, I hope, live happily and prosperously. Thank you, my friends. I congratulate you on the holiday," Lev Leshchenko said.
Lev Leshchenko’s performance of the song "Victory Day" became the culmination of the performance "Soldiers’ Dreams". The People’s Artist was joined in song by the choir of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard troops of Russia, cadets of the A.I. Pokryshkin Cadet Boarding School, the Yunarmiya choir, the Pyatnitsky State Academic Russian Folk Choir and members of the audience. This scene showed that the song, written almost half a century ago, still unites generations and strengthens unity.
The historical performance based on wartime chronicles "Soldiers’ Dreams" is an original project of the National Centre RUSSIA. Its premiere is timed to coincide with the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The performance was created under the direction of People’s Artist of Russia Yevgeny Glazov and brought together choirs and dance groups, drama actors, popular performers, children’s ensembles and a large costumed crowd scene on one stage.
During the lecture, participants followed a route from Anapa towards Novorossiysk and then on to Gelendzhik and Krymsk.
Geographical maps shaped the outcome of military battles no less than bullets and shells.
The performance "Soldiers’ Dreams" unites generations, recalls the heroism of a multi-ethnic nation and inspires new achievements.
