The acceptance of video essays for the All-Russian contest "Dreams of the Future" has begun
The acceptance of entries for the All-Russian video essay contest "Dreams of the Future," organized by the National Centre RUSSIA, started on March 24. Participants can upload their videos to the website dream.russia.ru until April 24.
The competition aims to inspire young people to reflect on the future and introduce them to the works of science fiction writers. Participants are required to create a video essay beginning with the words: "We want to create a future in which..." with a mandatory reference to works of science fiction from a recommended list. This list was specially prepared for the participants by the Russian State Library for Young Adults and the Council on Science Fiction and Adventure Literature of the Union of Writers of Russia, in collaboration with the publishing group Eksmo-AST.
Teams of five people aged 14 to 18 can register until April 10. So far, 252 applications have been submitted from 61 regions of Russia. The evaluation of works will take place from April 25 to May 19. A total of 20 teams will make it to the finals. Six of them will become winners and prize recipients. The finalists will be announced on June 1, International Children's Day, during the award ceremony at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The contest is held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Public and State Movement for Children and Youth "Movement of the First," the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in Science and Education of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education, the Russian State Library for Young Adults, and the Council on Science Fiction and Adventure Literature of the Union of Writers of Russia, the ANO "ArtMasters," and the All-Russian Festival "SCIENCE 0+."
The literary partner of the competition is the publishing group Eksmo-AST, the official bookstore chain is the federal chain of stores Chitai-Gorod. The partner for social content is "YOUF — your media about reading." The analytical partner is VCIOM.
The "Dreams of the Future" contest continues the work of reviving public interest in designing one’s future, which began at the International Symposium "Inventing the Future."
