The thematic directions of the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future" programme have been announced. The Symposium will be held on October 7-8, 2025 in Moscow, at the National Centre RUSSIA. The Symposium, organized on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin under the auspices of the Decade of Science and Technology in our country, will cover a wide range of relevant topics, from demographic trends and global urbanization to international scientific and technological cooperation and digital outer space. Currently, representatives of the expert community are invited to register for the programme's events. To become a participant, one needs to submit an online application on the official website of the Symposium.

The expert program of the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future" is based on the strategic task of developing positive scenarios for the future, and includes such tracks as "Society", "Technology", and "Global Cooperation", where futuristic forecasts will be discussed. 

The track "Society" deals with society, its image and transformations in various fields. Leading minds from different countries will talk about overcoming the global demographic crisis, the opportunities and challenges of urbanization, the future of culture, and the impact of social architecture on society, changes in the labor market, the prospects for collaboration between cities and corporations, foreign and Russian practices of creating a visual code. There will also be a kind of futurological media laboratory working to elaborate inspiring images and ideas about the future world. Much attention will be paid to building scenarios of the future at the intersection of science and creativity, and to their visualization.

The "Technology" track will focus on key applied innovations that shape the future here and now. Among the topics to be discussed are cybersecurity; biotechnologies of the future — from organ printing to DNA editing; peculiarities of creating materials of the future; digital outer space; the introduction of artificial intelligence.

The "Global Cooperation" track will focus on presentation of initiatives and  search for new solutions in the field of humanitarian cooperation. The meanings and values that can unite humanity; the image of global cooperation and the interaction of individual countries, in particular Russia and Africa; the image of the common future of our country and the Global South pictured in megaprojects, and much more, will be analyzed. 

The symposium will bring together more than 7,000 participant from the SCO and BRICS countries, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe. At each of the tracks, they will work extensively together at the intersection of science, technology, humanities, and imagination. The discussions will result in futuristic forecasts that can be monitored, discussed, and adjusted. Statesmen, scientists and researchers, representatives of the technology sector, futurologists, forecasters, and representatives of the creative industries will take part in the exchange of experience and the development of positive scenarios for the future. Special attention will be paid to young professionals' participation, in order to increase their involvement in promising projects.

A large-scale open educational programme for the general public is also being prepared. It will showcase the synthesis of science, technology and art in the space of ideas about the future, and will talk in simple language about complex and important things. Inspiring talks about space, quantum breakthroughs, technological innovations, and images of the future in culture and art await participants of different ages.  For participants of the open programme, the registration will start in September on the official website of the Symposium.
