The Stavropol region is building "Bridges of Friendship" between the peoples of Russia — Vladimir Vladimirov
The Stavropol region is actively contributing to
strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples and
religious communities of Russia through cultural, educational and sporting
initiatives brought together under the project "Bridges of
Friendship". This was stated by the Governor of the Stavropol Region,
Vladimir Vladimirov, at the National Centre RUSSIA on 27 February.
"For the Caucasus, traditions of interaction between
cultures and faiths are traditions of peace. Today, relations between the heads
of the republics and the leadership of the region are genuinely friendly. We
call our initiative 'Bridges of Friendship': children visit other children,
communicate, take part in sports missions and joint quests, spending three days
together in different territories," Vladimir Vladimirov noted.
The Governor emphasised that the Stavropol region hosts one
of the forums of the World Russian People’s Council, where issues of
interethnic and interfaith harmony are discussed annually. All major religions
of Russia are represented in the region, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism
and even Buddhism.
Particular attention is paid to cultural and gastronomic
events, including national cuisine festivals and performances by singers,
poets, musicians and dancers. These events are held in connection with the
Caucasus Investment Forum and create a platform for strengthening interethnic
friendship.
The address by the Governor of the Stavropol Region,
Vladimir Vladimirov, took place during the region’s thematic week at the
National Centre RUSSIA. The development strategy "Region-2030. Stavropol
Region" was also presented there.
