A stylish accessory crafted using ancestral techniques: a patchwork workshop to be held at the National Centre RUSSIA
On July 24
at 13:30, the National Centre RUSSIA will host a workshop titled "Textile
Jewellery" as part of the patchwork exposition "The Soul of
Russia."
During this
hands-on session, participants will learn the basics of working with textile
materials, try themselves as designers, and create stylish fabric accessories.
"We
strive to preserve the traditions of our ancestors. Unfortunately, most young
people today do not know how to sew. At our workshop, visitors will make
decorations they can wear themselves or give to loved ones," said Rimma
Bybina, organiser of the International Patchwork Festival "The Soul of
Russia."
To take
part in the workshop, visitors need to register in the "Events"
section on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA. All materials will be
provided.
The
patchwork exposition "The Soul of Russia" is open at the National
Centre RUSSIA until July 27. It is part of the large-scale International
Festival of the same name.
The exposition showcases items created using
centuries-old techniques. The project brings together the most talented
artisans from cities such as Ufa, Arkhangelsk, Voronezh, Tula, Moscow, Perm,
Ivanovo, St Petersburg, Tyumen, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Lipetsk, Cheboksary,
Bryansk, Voronezh, and many others.
Rimma
Bybina noted that the key theme voiced in recent years by President Vladimir
Putin is the preservation of the nation’s spiritual and moral values. This
message is also at the heart of the International Patchwork Festival "The
Soul of Russia."
Its central theme was the development of visual culture through educational projects, public spaces and new approaches to environmental design.
The Summer Expert Meetings will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA in July.
Experts from the Centre for Cross-Industry Expertise "Third Rome" analysed the discussions and essays submitted by participants in the April event.
