Russia ranks first in the world for wheat sales
We firmly hold first place in the world for supplies of wheat and frozen fish and are among the leaders in the export of sunflower and rapeseed oils.
Overall, agricultural exports reached record levels last year, increasing in current prices to 43.5 billion US dollars.
Our products are delivered to more than 160 countries worldwide.
Russia is a leader in nuclear energy
In a number of countries, nuclear energy industry is being developed from scratch with Russia’s support. We invented nuclear energy industry in 1954. While the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing hundreds of thousands of people, we were the first in the world to launch a nuclear power plant to serve humanity. Today, Russia remains a global leader in the construction of nuclear power units abroad.
The year 2025 marks an important stage in the development of the Russian nuclear industry: the national technological leadership project "New Nuclear and Energy Technologies" has been launched.
Russia is among the top three leaders in AI development
As President of Russia Vladimir Putin has emphasised, breakthroughs in this field are of immense importance and competition between states is fierce.
Russia has two large domestic language models. Specialised computing clusters are being developed, as well as AI solutions for implementation. Research centres at leading Russian universities are also engaged in studies in this area. Overall, we are building a foundation for successful competition in the future.
Russia remains a global leader in natural gas exports
Despite sanctions and political pressure, Russia continues to be a major player in the global gas market. Many European countries, despite public statements about refusing Russian gas, have not been able to do so, having only given up direct supplies.
According to the Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy Complex, a branch of the Analytical Centre of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, in 2024 Russia’s export of liquefied natural gas reached 47.2 billion cubic metres, increasing by 4% compared with 2023.
A record number of international students enrolled in Russia
Today, 414,647 students from 182 countries are studying at Russian universities. This is the highest number ever recorded, demonstrating the growing attractiveness of Russian education.
Most international students come from CIS countries, China, Iran, and India. The number of students from Africa, Latin America, Iran, and China is also increasing.
