The development strategy of Russia will be determined together with citizens — Vladimir Putin at the United Russia party congress
Today at the International RUSSIA EXPO the congress of the United Russia party unanimously supported the candidacy of Vladimir Putin in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation.
"All decisions must and will be made only by ourselves, without foreign cues from abroad. Russia cannot, like some countries, give up its sovereignty in exchange for sausage and become someone’s satellite. We must remember and never forget, and teach this to our children: Russia will either be a sovereign, self-sufficient power, or it will not exist at all. This is a very important thing that should always be in our minds and hearts. Therefore we certainly will determine and create our future ourselves. This is the sovereign state worldview, the basis for genuine civil consolidation, for joint work", — the head of state said in his speech at the party congress.
The President noted that despite all attempts to collapse the economy and social sphere of Russia and destabilize its political system, our state is successfully coping with these problems.
"We responded to the challenges because we consistently, step by step, year after year, followed the path of strengthening sovereignty, including in the political and public sphere, economy, education and culture. We developed Russian federalism, our legislation and strong constitutional foundations. We relied on the centuries-old experience of our statehood, on our values and unique traditions of the harmonious development of different ethnic groups, cultures, languages, religions", — said Vladimir Putin.
"It is the people of Russia who have been and will be the only source of power. We will protect their sovereign right to choose their future from any external interference. The Russian state will be sovereign, and therefore truly national", — the head of state stressed.
