Theater festival "School Classics" - on June 6 at the RUSSIA EXPO

The "School Classics" theater festival of the Movement of the First will be timed to coincide with the celebration of the 225th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin's birth. Throughout the day, children and adults will be able to enjoy literary and theatrical events, participate in masterclasses, and in the evening, they will be presented the play "Theater is a Family".

For the first time in four seasons of the All-Russian project "School Classics", the Movement of the First and the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute have prepared a festival format especially for children and adults. The guests of the festival will enjoy a rich cultural program that will introduce them to the world of theater and literature.

Participants of the festival will be 20 theater groups from 10 regions of Russia - Belgorod region, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Moscow region, Kursk region, Irkutsk region, Samara region, Kaluga region, Tyumen region, Republic of Tatarstan. The audience will be able to see sketches dedicated to the 225th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin and such important themes as family, dreams, childhood and the future. The artists will show their talents not only in performances, but also in competitions. Different groups will meet in the "Theatrical Duel": young artists will show their skills and abilities during the demonstration of creative etudes and acting improvisation. The duel will be evaluated by honorable guests - famous actors of theater and cinema.

During the day, masterclasses from teachers of the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute and creative meetings with theater and film actors will be held at different venues. Communication and work with artists will help the First not only to learn more about the theater world, but also to decide on their future profession. 

Festival participants and visitors to the International RUSSIA EXPO will be able to become spectators of street theater and get acquainted with the format of performance in an open space. The performance is based on unusual plastics, three forms of theater, original costumes and scenery. The theatrical production will tell about how important it is to follow your dream and believe in its fulfillment.

The finale of the evening will be the performance "Theater is a Family". Famous actors of theater and cinema will take part in it. Together with professionals, artists of 11 theater groups, who successfully passed the qualifying stages of the project "School Classics" during the school year, will take the stage. The performance will consist of etudes about the peculiarities of actors' work in drama, music, dance and plastic theater, as well as in the original genre.

Collectives participating in the performance are: Theater Workshop of Gymnasium No. 100 (Chelyabinsk region), Folklore Ensemble "Zhar-Ptitsa" (Moscow), Choreographic Studio "Magic Plus" (Moscow), Theater Workshop "Shurum-Burum" (Udmurt Republic), Model Children's Collective "Shadow Theater 'Zerkalo' (Kursk region), Theatrical Studio "Lampochka" (Saratov region), Art Center "Klassny Musikl" (Perm region), Exemplary Theatre Studio "Pyatigorsk TYUZ" (Stavropol region), Exemplary Theatre "Tochka" (Udmurt Republic), Social Theatre "Tvoi Vybor" (Lugansk People's Republic) and Theatre Studio "Bravo" (Zaporozhye region).

The festival will last all day - from 12:00 to 20:00. Shows of performances and thematic activities will be held from 12:00 to 16:00, and "Theater Duel" will be held from 14:30 to 16:30. A street theater performance will begin at 16:00, and at 18:00 the final performance "Theater is a Family" will be shown. The First throughout Russia keep and multiply the achievements of their ancestors and equal their values. The movement passes on the experience, traditions and culture of our country to young participants. Thus, in the all-Russian project "School Classics" actors of school and youth theaters receive support from the professional community. Experts introduce children and youth to theater art and literary creativity, and devise productions with the participation of young talents. Over four seasons, more than 4,500 both novice and professional groups have joined the project.
