Kirill
Polyakov, Vice-Governor of Saint Petersburg, took part in the official opening
ceremony of the thematic season at the RUSSIA EXPO.
"Saint
Petersburg is, first of all, an industrial city. Last year we celebrated 320
years since its birth, and this year we celebrate 320 years since the birth of
St. Petersburg industry, because it was in 1704 that Peter the Great decided to
build the first admiralty shipyards. Since then, St. Petersburg has become a
city of great industry; in recent years, the city has developed radio
electronics, pharmacy, and traditional industries. We have also made a big step
in the development of unmanned technologies, today the first commercial
transportations are carried out by our drones. The city has a lot of
achievements, innovations. This gives a certain stimulus to education, the vast
opportunities of which we are also demonstrating within the framework of
"Petersburg Industrial". And, as the President of the Russian
Federation noted at the meeting with the Governor of Saint Petersburg, the
growth of industry in the city significantly exceeds the average Russian
indicators," noted Kirill Polyakov.
The Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg drew special attention of the guests to the scaled-down replica of the Palace Bridge, presented at the stand of the Northern Capital: "From the point of view of our thematic season, this bridge acquires a special meaning, because this year we started the construction of the first drawbridge across the Neva River in 40 years, its main mechanisms and metal structures will also be manufactured in St. Petersburg".
As part of the opening ceremony of the thematic season, an excursion was held for the honorary guests of the stand, during which the main exhibitors of the Industrial season - Imperial Porcelain Factory JSC, Leningrad Metal Works, ROBBO JSC and others - presented their achievements and plans for the future.
