The solemn procession "Time of Russia! Time Forward" was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
On April
12, a grand solemn procession with the participation of active cosmonauts and
space dynasties was held at the International RUSSIA EXPO to mark the
Cosmonautics Day. More than 2 thousand people took part in it. The column
included employees of Roscosmos State Corporation, the RUSSIA EXPO,
representatives of the Movement of Children and Youth "Movement of the
First", Russian Student Squads, as well as visitors to the Exposition.
The
procession "Time of Russia! Time Forward!" became one of the key
events of the Cosmonautics Day at the RUSSIA EXPO. The event was solemnly
launched by a dance flash mob "Charge to the Future", which
symbolized the beginning of a new stage of the Exposition's work - now it will
be dedicated to the future of our country, the ways and prospects of its
development.
The
procession column was led by the brass band of the Ministry of Defence and
children acrobats. The procession went from the Northern Loop of VDNH to the
Main Street Stage of the RUSSIA EXPO, where the participants released hundreds
of balloons shaped like doves and the planet Earth into the sky, thus starting
the festive concert.
Today, the
Main Street Stage hosts rap singer Mot, the most "cosmic" band
"Zemlyane", opera singer Ksenia Dezhneva, the choir of the
"Movement of the First", residents and show-ballet of the
"Tavrida" art-cluster.
"This
is a holiday not only for cosmonauts and not only for people who work in the
space industry. The whole country worked hard to make this day happen. And
there is the labour of teachers, doctors, and those who created space
technology. Therefore, I wholeheartedly congratulate everyone on this holiday,
and I am very pleased that it is taking place here, at the RUSSIA EXPO.
Cosmonautics is truly our achievement," said Sergei Krikalev,
pilot-cosmonaut, executive director for manned space programs of Roscosmos
State Corporation.
"This holiday unites our country, and in the future it will unite all of humanity. Happy holiday!" added pilot-cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural events, a rich business and educational program await the guests. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. More than 10 million people have already visited the Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place at VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
From 16 to 21 September, guests can expect a rich business, educational, and cultural programme.
