Labour of more than 50 masters: embroidered Map of Crimea was presented at the RUSSIA EXPO
The Embroidered Map of Crimea, created for the tenth
anniversary of the Crimean Spring, was presented at the Exposition. It was
crafted by more than 50 masters of folk arts and crafts from 25 municipal
districts of the republic and Sevastopol.
The map was made during half a year, said merited master of
folk arts and crafts of the Republic of Crimea, the author of the idea and one
of the creators of the map Svetlana Sergeeva. It was first presented on the
peninsula on March 18 - the day of Crimea's reunification with Russia.
"The map shows the sights of the Crimean districts and
ornaments of the peoples who live on the peninsula. Its size is 3.5 by 2.75
meters. The total area is about nine square meters. We started the work last
year and completed it by March 18," said Svetlana Sergeeva.
The map will be placed at the stand of the Republic of
Crimea. Since April 2, the Days of Culture of the peninsula will start here — during ten days the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO can enjoy various masterclasses
and creative performances.
The project "Embroidered Map of Russia" was
organized by the Government of the Chuvash Republic in 2021. By 2022, the
Chuvash National Museum prepared a canvas with an area of 21 square meters and
weighing about 50 kilograms. The map reflects the national features of all
regions of the country.
A panel discussion "Integration of the Special Military Operation Heroes into Civilian Life" was held at the National Centre RUSSIA as part of the 3rd All-Russian Municipal Forum "Small Homeland — the Strength of Russia".
Among its key events were the signing of major agreements, the Twin Cities Forum, and the festival of cultures "Heart of the Motherland", dedicated to the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
Guests not only observed the process but also asked the craftswomen about the meanings and the everyday life of the Khanty and Mansi peoples.
