Visitors of the International RUSSIA EXPO will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the Orel Region from a new perspective — as a genuine literary capital. At the exposition of the region at VDNH it will be possible to take an imaginary walk through the national park "Orel Polesie" (Orel Woodland) and admire the famous Turgenev’s oak.

The legendary tree grew in the estate of the writer’s mother in Spasskoye-Lutovinov. The oak was planted in the middle of the XIX century, probably by Ivan Turgenev himself. In 2021 the oak won the first place in the contest "The Best Tree of Russia", but the same year it was felled by a hurricane. The Orel Polesie National Park, founded in 1994, preserves the unique vegetation of the South Russian taiga. The territory occupies almost 78 thousand hectares.

Like other regions of Russia, the Orel region will tell in detail about its manufacturers and traditional crafts. The products of the agro-industrial complex will feature prominently in the exposition. Interactive elements of the stand will help to plunge into the life of the Orel region, touch its history and developments of recent years. They will be available in a game format.

The RUSSIA EXPO will be held at the VDNH in Moscow from November, 4. Subjects of the Russian Federation will introduce visitors to their achievements of recent years. All 89 regions will take part, each of them will design its own exposition. In addition, a day will be devoted to each region in the exposition program. The exposition will be combined with entertainment, cultural and business events.
