Smart garden, IT village and drones for agro-industrial complex — Tambov region at the RUSSIA EXPO
Famous Tambov potatoes and Tambov ham, fragrant Michurin apples — on the Day of the Region at VDNH, guests of the exposition could not only taste the region’s products, but also learn about its new tourist routes. Tour traffic to the Tambov region increased by 18% to 1 million tourists per year and continues to grow.
"Our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has repeatedly emphasized that our country has a huge historical, cultural, natural, recreational potential for the development of domestic tourism. We presented the potential of our region at the RUSSIA EXPO. We have a lot to be proud of. This is fertile Tambov black soil, developed industry and agriculture, scientific discoveries that change the world, majestic temples, old noble estates and, of course, our nature. There are many tourist routes in our region that can interest guests of all ages", — said Maxim Egorov, head of the Tambov region.
The Tambov region has been a leader in the national environmental rating for 13 years. The region exports its eco-friendly products to 38 countries around the world. It produces foods for the cosmonauts of the International Space Station.
The region intends to become the capital of advanced technologies in agriculture. It is home to Michurinsk, the only agrarian science city in the country, where horticultural breeding and seed production are carried out. A research and production center of unmanned systems for agro-industrial complex is being created. The region’s IT specialists have come up with an initiative to create a countryside ecosystem — an IT village — in the Tambov region.
In 2023, industrial production grew by 13%. All office white paper in Russia and all money bills are produced thanks to the Tambov region’s chemical industry enterprises.
According to Maxim Egorov, the film industry should become a new "growth point" of the regional economy. This is due to the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The region has joined the Cinema of Russia project of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and plans to develop its own film and TV production base. A system of rebates will start to work, when movie companies get back a part of the expenses spent during filming from the budget. Currently, the historical series "Merchants and Children" is being filmed in the region, and previously the series "Extreme" was shot there.
The National Centre RUSSIA will host a series of presentations titled "Journey Across Russia's Gastronomic Festivals."
The National Centre RUSSIA today meets the needs of various professional communities for communication and exchange of experience.
During the tour of the expansive exposition, the Chairman of the Government highlighted the significance of the display.
