A unique bust of Peter the Great made of medical instruments was presented at the RUSSIA EXPO
An art
object in the form of a sculpture of Peter the Great, created entirely from
medical instruments, can be seen at the stand of St. Petersburg. The bust is
220 cm high and 150 cm wide. The art object was included in the Book of Russian
Records as the only artwork created entirely from medical instruments. The
presentation of the object opened the thematic health season at the St.
Petersburg stand.
"I am
very happy that today our representatives of the art school are presenting a
unique art object - a portrait of Peter the Great made of medical instruments.
These are not just medical instruments - they were used by our
doctors-surgeons, the instruments embody the healing energy of surgery in our
city," said Oleg Ergashev, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg.
The tools
for the unique sculpture were collected from all surgical departments of St.
Petersburg, said Valeria Loshak, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and
the Union of Designers of St. Petersburg:
"These are the tools that saved the lives of many people, and we as artists-professionals were granted such an interesting work and honor - to make a bust of Peter the Great. The work was very difficult. We technically annealed the tools, welded them with argon welding: there were a lot of peculiarities in the work."
"There are about a thousand tools, and not all of them are the whole thing: there are parts and small pieces. It was very important for us to use as much as possible of the quantity we were given to work with. Plus, we had the task to make a unique image of St. Petersburg - beautiful and majestic," Kirill Kovalev, the second author of the work, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, added to the words of his colleague.
In the fourth episode, the guest of the podcast was Nikolai Chuikov, the grandson of Marshal, two-time Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Ivanovich Chuikov.
Earlier, during the pitch session "Investments in Technology," Thiago Rudiger emphasized the importance of the Open Dialogue for global technological cooperation.
Volunteers will provide support during the Victory Parade on Red Square.
