The most frequent purchases at the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA during the first two weeks of December included napkins with festive designs, New Year ornaments, and kokoshniks.

The holiday rush urges Moscow residents and visitors to the capital to think about timely gift shopping for their loved ones and friends. Within just the first two weeks of December, the number of purchases by Russians increased sevenfold (+627%). The most active shopping days were Saturday (+120%), Tuesday (+53%), and Wednesday (+28%).

The Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA offers four main categories of products: accessories, groceries, traditional folk crafts and handicrafts, cosmetics, as well as an additional category — the New Year’s market.

According to statistics, the most popular items chosen by visitors included napkins with festive patterns (89% share in the "folk crafts and handicrafts" category), handmade New Year ornaments featuring fairy-tale characters (52% in the "New Year’s market" category), gift-wrapped gingerbread (28% in the "groceries" section), earrings and kokoshniks by local designers (20% in the "accessories" category), and lip balm (13% in the "cosmetics" category).

"We see a growing interest in Russian-made products. The Department Store provides manufacturers with not only the opportunity to present their items at the National Centre RUSSIA but also supports their promotion, popularization, and the creation of new products through collaborations, thereby boosting recognition and the growth of regional brands," said Maria Gromyko, Deputy Head of the Social Communications and Regional Interaction Department of the ANO DEA "Russia."

The National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on a permanent basis. Federal government agencies, state companies, corporations, and regions take part in the Centre’s work.

The National Centre RUSSIA is located at 14 Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment, Moscow. The Centre is open from 10:00 to 20:00 every day except Monday.
