See landscapes that inspired Vrubel and dig up a mammoth: the Bryansk region welcomes guests
Memorial
complexes of the Great Patriotic War, temples and monasteries, old manor houses
and ruins from the tsar times. Everyone who cares about the history of their
native country should definitely visit the Bryansk region. And you can learn
more about this region and be inspired to travel at the RUSSIA EXPO.
Perhaps the
first thing you notice at the stand of the Bryansk region is a model of a
train, or rather the famous freight mainline diesel locomotive. They are
produced only by the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant, the locomotive of the
Russian industry. You can also see a partisan dugout at the stand. Researchers
of the museum "Partisan Glade" prepared its model as authentically as
possible, adding items of military life, equipment and shells found during
excavations. The fact is that during the war about 60 thousand partisans fought
against the German invaders. In the region, there is a Memorial Complex
"Partisan Glade", which is located on the site of the first gathering
of partisans in the fall of 1941.
In the
Bryansk region, tourists should definitely visit the museum
"Paleolithic" in the village of Yudinovo, Pogarsky district, which is
called the Paleolithic Mecca. There are eight archaeological monuments here,
including the settlement of ancient mammoth hunters, the age of which is 15
thousand years. You can feel yourself an archaeologist at the stand. There is
an unusual activity for young guests - excavating a mammoth.
Also, at the RUSSIA EXPO you can learn where in the Bryansk region to look for landscapes that inspired artists Ilya Repin and Mikhail Vrubel. It turns out that in the village of Khotylevo there is an estate of Tyutchevs, which in 1888 was transferred to Prince Vyacheslav Teneshev. Famous artists visited him. Repin's landscape sketches from Khotylevo are now in the Tretyakov Gallery. And on Vrubel's painting "Pan" you can find the landscape seen from the house of the Teneshevs.
A visit to the Bryansk region is also worthwhile for the sake of seeing the largest airplane in the world - the famous AN-124 Ruslan. It is located at the military airfield Seshcha - tourists can see it on the Open Day. The guests of the region will even be able to sit in the cockpit and watch pilot demonstrations.
