See the northern lights and ride reindeer: Nenets Autonomous Area at the RUSSIA EXPO
The exposition of the Nenets Autonomous Area introduces the RUSSIA EXPO guests to one of the northernmost regions of the Russian Arctic. There are three times as many reindeer here, and local shamans still practice ancient rites. Here you can see the ancient glacial lake Golodnaya Guba, bathe in thermal springs and visit the mysterious village of Amderma.
You can feel the atmosphere of the Nenets Autonomous Area to the fullest extent by visiting the stand of the region at the RUSSIA EXPO. There is a real yurt at the exposition, national costumes are presented, which you can try on to make spectacular photos. Particularly beautiful photos are made against the backdrop of the northern lights, which is broadcast on a huge screen.
There are different attractions for children here. Younger kids can compete with each other in "catching" fish, and those who are older can try to handle a reindeer sled. To become a musher, it is enough to put on virtual reality glasses.
By the way, the Nenets exposition is decorated with real reindeer moss - lichen, which reindeer feed on. And with the arrival of spring, the stand was decorated with yellow and white daffodils symbolizing the sun and snow. There is also a new art object - a flower tree decorated with symbols of the region. You can find figurines of fish and reindeer, national dolls and an image of local ornaments shaped like reindeer antlers.
During the all-Russian survey "What does the Motherland begin with?", people across the country are answering this question in their own way, opening up the innermost corners of their souls.
Souvenir nevalyashkas (traditional Russian roly-poly dolls), are attracting particular attention, with guests choosing them for their harmonious combination of Russian colour and traditional Chinese symbols.
Under the guidance of artisans, each guest made an unusual souvenir that can become either a personal talisman or a gift with a special story.
